Our Pastor's Family

David and Pam Carns along with their two children, Meagan and Jordan, arrived in Arizona in July of 2000.  David and Pam came to Arizona as Missionary Interns with the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Pastor Dave accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior when he was a freshman in college.  The date was November 9, 1981 as he listened to his grandmother share with him the gospel.  Pam accepted Christ as a small girl at a vacation Bible school in Gordo, Alabama.  Both Meagan and Jordan have also accepted Christ.

David graduated from Jacksonville State University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and in 2000 he graduated with a Master's of Divinity degree with Biblical Languages from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina.  Pam graduated from Jacksonville State University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and in 1990 she received from the University of Alabama her Masters of Arts degree in Education.

The Carns' family has a vast range of interests.  Pastor Dave not only serves as pastor of Summit but also serves in the role of chaplain for both the Huachuca City and Sierra Vista police departments.  He also enjoys college football "Roll Tide" and major league baseball "Go Braves"! Pam enjoys teaching her 1st and 2nd grade combo class, reading, college football "Roll Tide", and putting together quilts.
Meagan is currently serving on mission and Jordan teaches middle school and high school algebra.  But most of all the Carns' are a family that loves Jesus and have given their lives to serving Him.
